Ed Joyce tips Chris Jordan to make England impact

Chris Jordan can become a key England player for "the next few years", according to his Sussex teammate Ed Joyce.

Ed Joyce has insisted that his Sussex teammate Chris Jordan can become a key player for England during their upcoming one-day international tour of Sri Lanka and beyond.

Jordan announced himself on the international stage over the last year, having made his debut in all three formats of the game.

The bowler is a part of the 15-man squad that recently arrived in the sub-continent and Joyce believes that he has the ability to get the best out of the conditions.

"All conditions should suit him really because he has got pace and bounce. On the flatter wickets that are a bit lower in the sub-continent and Sri Lanka, in particular, his extra pace should be beneficial with a reverse-swinging ball," Joyce told the ECB's official website.

"Medium-pacers who don't do too much with it seem to go the distance over there. Anyone who has got pace is valuable but he has batting and fielding to add to that. He is one of those cricketers that could be X-factor in the next few years."

Jordan, 26, has taken 22 wickets in 14 one-day outings.
