England won the final warm-up match against a Sri Lankan Development XI by four wickets after being set a target of 359.

Kevin Pietersen, Samit Patel, Matt Prior and Ravi Bopara, who is unlikely to bowl in the Test series after picking up a side injury, racked up the scoreboard during their innings at the crease after the visitors declared on 199-4 at lunch.

While Pietersen claimed 52 runs and Prior a score of 84, Ian Bell failed to make an impact for the national side and was caught out after just 14 deliveries.

After Stuart Broad and Patel ended their partnership at the crease, Graeme Swann entered the fold to round off the contest by hitting a six and two fours from three balls to clinch the win.

England begin their series with Sri Lanka with the first Test on Monday.
