Cook: 'Semi-final is a massive opportunity'

England captain Alastair Cook has admitted that their ICC Champions Trophy semi-final with South Africa is a "massive occasion".

Cook's side meet the Proteas at the Oval after coming through the group stages, and the left-hander is excited to be only one match away from a potential appearance in Sunday's final.

The 28-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's a massive game for both sides. We've got the opportunity to go into the final of an ICC competition. It's such an exciting place for a player to be.

"We've almost played knockout cricket throughout this Champions trophy. This is obviously the one step towards the final and we've come here to try and win the tournament.

"It's an amazing opportunity we've got and both sides will be excited by that."

England progressed through to the last four after they beat New Zealand by 10 runs in their final group game.
