Buttler: 'It was the best I've ever played'

England batsman Jos Buttler has admitted that he has bittersweet feelings following his record-breaking century for the Three Lions in their defeat to Sri Lanka.

The 23-year-old scored the fastest century by an Englishman in the history of one-day cricket as he notched his ton in 61 balls, beating Kevin Pietersen's 69-ball record of nine years ago.

However, it wasn't enough to secure a win for Alastair Cook's side as they fell to a seven-run defeat in the fourth one-day international.

Buttler told reporters: "It's brilliant to play that well but it's disappointing not to get over the line. That is definitely the best I've ever played."

England and Sri Lanka face off in their deciding fifth game on Tuesday at Edgbaston with the series locked at 2-2.
