Tim Bresnan in tsunami scare

England all-rounder Tim Bresnan has been caught up in the tsunami scare which has rocked most of Asia.

The 27-year-old is preparing to wed his fiancee in the Maldives, just three hours from where a quake measuring 8.7 on the Richter Scale struck off the coast Indonesia.

Updating fans via Twitter, Bresnan said: "Just sat around reception in the Maldives with a life jacket on waiting for the tsunami to hit. Not ideal the day before my wedding."

Despite the chaos, his fiancee Hannah Baytte confirmed that the wedding is still going ahead.

She later tweeted: "Well I think @timbresnan thought he had nearly got out of it! Nope ding ding the bells are going to chime. #we'regettingmarriedinthemorning"

The tremors struck in the same region as the 2004 Boxing Day disaster.
