Alastair Cook hints at largely unchanged England

Captain Alastair Cook hints that Chris Tremlett for Tim Bresnan is likely to be the only change made to England's XI for the fifth and final Ashes Test against Australia at The Oval.

Captain Alastair Cook has suggested that England will name a largely unchanged XI for their Ashes finale against Australia, which begins at The Oval on Wednesday.

The hosts have established an unassailable 3-0 lead heading into the fifth Test and have the chance to become the first English team to record a 4-0 series win over the old enemy with victory in London.

Surrey seamer Chris Tremlett is expected to replace the injured Tim Bresnan for the match at his home ground, but no other alterations are anticipated after Cook declared his intention to select his strongest available team.

"We're picking the side with the best chance of winning the game," he told BBC Sport. "Every time you beat Australia is a good feeling.

"We've got the opportunity to do what no England side has done before, that's our goal."

Chris Woakes and Simon Kerrigan, both of whom have yet to be capped at Test level, have been named in England's 14-man squad.
