Australia captain Michael Clarke admits that his back injury is getting better, but is unsure whether he will be fit enough to play against Sri Lanka on Monday.

Australia captain Michael Clarke is nearing full fitness ahead of his side's crucial ICC Champions Trophy match against Sri Lanka.

The 32-year-old, who has been sidelined with a back problem, is still unsure of whether he will be fit for Monday's game.

He admitted that his back is getting better and that he is desperate to play.

"It's getting there," Sky Sports News quotes Clarke as saying.

"I can sit here and say I will be 100% fit for the game on Monday but I have been saying that for the last two games as well. It's about judging my back every day. It's slowly getting better, there is no doubt about it.

"I am as keen as ever to try to get on the field and help this team have some success."

Australia must beat Sri Lanka to have a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.
