Dong Cheng safely into quarter-finals

China's Dong Cheng has progressed to the last eight of the women's lightweight tournament courtesy of a five-point victory over Romania's Mihaela Lacatus.

Dong dominated the first round to take a 3-0 lead and remained in control in the second to preserve her advantage.

Lacatus landed with her best shot of the contest in the third - a big right hand that knocked Dong off balance.

The Chinese fighter still led by three as they entered the final round and she closed out a 10-5 win.
