Northern Ireland's Alanna Audley-Murphy reaches lightweight boxing semi-finals

Northern Ireland have secured a second medal in women's boxing at the Commonwealth Games after Alanna Audley-Murphy reached the semi-finals in the lightweight event.

The 28-year-old beat Valerian Spicer of Dominica to secure her spot in the last four, guaranteeing her a place on the podium as both beaten semi-finalists receive bronze medals.

Two judges scored the pair level, but the third just gave the advantage to Audley-Murphy.

She joins compatriot Michaela Walsh as a boxing medallist, after she reached the last four in the flyweight division earlier this afternoon.
