Katie Taylor: 'I struggled to win European Games boxing gold'

Ireland's Katie Taylor says that she felt tired during her women's lightweight boxing victory at the European Games in Baku.

Irish boxer Katie Taylor has said that she felt tired during the women's lightweight boxing final at the European Games.

Despite her fatigue, Taylor was able to produce a dominant performance against France's Estelle Mossely to win by unanimous decision.

"I felt a little differently to be honest. I thought she was causing me a little bit of trouble," Taylor told Inside the Games.

"I just felt a little bit tired, my feinting wasn't there. I should have been feinting a little bit more.

"It was just one of those things. Sometimes you go into the ring feeling a little bit tired. You still have to dig deep and pull through and that's the sign of a great champion."

Taylor added the European Games crown to her 2012 Olympics and 2014 World Championship gold medals.
