Washington Wizards land DeJuan Blair in trade deal with Dallas Mavericks

The Washington Wizards have brought in centre DeJuan Blair in a sign-and-trade deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

In return the Mavericks have acquired the rights to Emir Preldzic, who began his NBA career having been drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 2009.

Blair spent four years with the San Antonio Spurs before joining Dallas, with the 6'7" player averaging 7.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in his career.

Washington's new signing will provide experienced competition for both Marcin Gortat and Drew Gooden.
