Gregg Popovich: 'Hopefully we can pay our bills'

Gregg Popovich jokes about the San Antonio Spurs 'paying their bills' after a fault in the air conditioning lead to extreme heat for players and supporters.

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has joked in his post-game press conference that the franchise have 'hopefully paid their bills', in reference to the faulty air conditioning in their win over the Miami Heat.

Players and supporters had to endure uncomfortable heat as the air conditioning in the AT&T Center, home to the Spurs, had malfunctioned.

"I think everybody got a little tired or a little dehydrated," he explained. "I'm sure that both teams are going to be happy that we have a couple of days before the next game and hopefully we can pay our bills."

The Spurs confirmed the problem with the air conditioning in press statement saying: "An electrical failure for the power that runs the AC system in the AT&T Center has occurred.

"We are continuing to work on resolving the problem. We apologise for any inconvenience."

The San Antonio Spurs beat the Miami Heat 110-95 to go 1-0 up in the best-of-seven series in the NBA Finals.
