NBA roundup: San Antonio Spurs win eighth straight game against Philadelphia 76ers

Sports Mole rounds up Monday night's NBA action, where the Philadelphia 76ers winless start continued.

The San Antonio Spurs picked up their eighth straight win by inflicting more misery on the hapless Philadelphia 76ers last night.

Philly have now lost 17 games in a row to start the season after the 109-103 loss and are one defeat shy of equalling the worst-ever start to an NBA campaign.

A topsy-turvy game at EnergySolutions Arena saw the Utah Jazz lose their fifth game in a row with a 103-101 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Denver were up by 19 at half time, but Utah rallied to level it up in the fourth before just losing out.

Despite impressive shooting performances from Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, the Miami Heat were convincingly beaten 107-86 by the Washington Wizards.

Bosh and Wade shot a combined 66% from the field but weren't helped by their teammates as Washington dominated the Southeast division clash. Rasual Butler led all scorers with 23 for the Wizards.

The Los Angeles Clippers returned home after a successful road trip and won their fifth game in a row with a 127-101 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Minnesota led after the first quarter, but the Clippers pulled away in the second and third, with Blake Griffin and JJ Redick both scoring 23 for the hosts.
