Jason Terry to sit out remainder of season

The Sacramento Kings confirm that Jason Terry will miss the rest of the campaign to rehabilitate his injured knee.

The Sacramento Kings have confirmed that Jason Terry will miss the remainder of the season to rehabilitate a problematic left knee.

Terry joined the Kings with Reggie Evans last week in a trade which saw Marcus Thornton sign with the Brooklyn Nets.

The 36-year-old was acquired as part of the rebuilding process for Sacramento, who are keen to hand more responsibility to rookies Ben McLemore and Ray McCallum.

Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro said in a statement: "Time to rehab during the balance of this season allows him to return at full strength next year while giving our younger players the minutes and experience needed to help us improve as a team going forward."

Sacramento have a 19-36 record in the NBA this season.
