Rick Carlisle: 'Devin Harris won't play this week'

Rick Carlisle has confirmed that Devin Harris will not make his return with the Dallas Mavericks this week.

The guard has not played since rejoining the Mavericks during the summer, having undergone toe surgery during the off-season.

The head coach told reporters: "He brings a lot, but we've got to make sure he's right before we put him out there.

"I'm encouraged. It's been a process where we've had to do a pushback and kind of restart it. We're getting closer and closer, but it won't happen this week."

Harris has a career average of 12.8 points per game.
