LeBron James: "I'm the best player"

LeBron James has insisted that he is the "best player in the world" despite the Cleveland Cavaliers suffering a defeat in game five of the NBA Finals.

The 104-91 loss to the Golden State Warriors leaves the Eastern Conference champions trailing 3-2, meaning they will need to win both remaining fixtures to claim the title.

The forward, who scored 40 points for the third time in the series, told reporters: "I feel confident because I'm the best player in the world. It's that simple.

"You cope with it by understanding it's just one game and looking at the opportunity we have on Tuesday to force a game seven.

"Obviously, for myself, I want to do whatever it takes to help our team win, and I haven't been able to do that the last two. So hopefully I can do a better job coming in on Tuesday. We all as a unit can do a better job, and we'll be fine."

The teams meet again in Cleveland tomorrow night.
