Irving: 'MVP title an honour'

Kyrie Irving has said that it was an honour to receive the title of MVP following his contribution to the Eastern Conference's 163-155 All-Star victory over the Western Conference on Sunday night.

The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard notched 31 points and 14 assists, as the East overturned an 18-point deficit to end their losing streak in the annual contest.

"It's a great honour. We had a few MVPs. Everyone out here today is an MVP," Irving told reporters after the game.

"The superstars of our league were just telling us to compete on every play. Trying to play as much defense as possible. You know, sticking to our game plan. We had a game plan going in and we executed."

Irving's Cavaliers currently hold fourth position in the Central Division, with a record of 20-33.
