Team USA coach insists Derrick Rose back at an "elite" level

Rose back at an "elite" level

Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski believes that Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is back at an "elite" level on the basis of his performance at training camp last week.

Rose is expected to make the final 12-man roster for the FIBA World Cup, but despite playing in just 10 games over the past two seasons, he has impressed his national coach.

"I think he's exceptional in every way. He went right at it. The first defensive exchange in the camp, he was all over the ball handler. It was basically his saying, 'Look, I'm not just back. I'm back at a level that's elite,'" Krzyzewski said, ESPN reports.

Rose will join his teammates in Chicago next week as training continues, with Team USA assistant and Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau echoing Krzyzewski's observations.
