NBA roundup: Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls continue streaks

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Monday's games in the NBA.

The Portland Trail Blazers recorded their seventh successive victory on Monday night with a 108-98 triumph over the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 27 points for the Blazers and Wesley Matthews added 24 as the Blazers took advantage of a depleted Nets team to continue their impressive form with a convincing win.

The Chicago Bulls ensured that their own winning streak continued at the United Center as Luol Deng scored 21 points and claimed eight rebounds in a victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

It remained close between the two teams until late in the fourth quarter when Deng's successful three-point effort was quickly followed by a free throw from Derrick Rose, who ended the night with 12 points.

Kevin Durant's 38 points guided the Oklahoma City Thunder to a tense 115-113 victory over the Denver Nuggets at the Chesapeake Arena.

Russell Westbrook added 30 for the Thunder, who were tied 105-105 with the Nuggets late in the final quarter before a Durant three-point handed them a lead which they were able to keep.

The Utah Jazz failed in their search for a second win of the campaign as they were defeated 98-87 by the Golden State Warriors.

Stephen Curry recorded 22 points as the Warriors eased to victory on the back of a strong first-half display.

Zach Randolph claimed 26 points and 15 rebounds against his former side as the Memphis Grizzlies recorded a 106-102 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Grizzlies guard Tony Allen was ejected from the game early on for a flagrant foul on Chris Paul but an impressive late spell ensured that the visitors to the Staples Center emerged victorious.

The Dallas Mavericks had to wait until the third quarter to claim their first lead on their way to a 97-94 success over the Philadelphia 76ers.

A big response in the second half to a four-point deficit earned the Mavericks their seventh win of the season, with Monta Ellis once again recording impressive figures of 24 points and 10 assists.
