Pau Gasol picked Chicago Bulls 'on instinct'

Former Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol has revealed that "instinct told [him] to pick Chicago" after he turned down offers elsewhere to make the switch to the Eastern Conference.

The 34-year-old spoke with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah ahead of announcing his decision, and he believes that the Bulls are one of the championship favourites along with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With interest high in the recent free agent, the Spaniard opted to turn down both the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Meanwhile, he also expects fellow new recruit forward Nikola Mirotic to make an immediate impact in what will be his first season in the NBA next year.
