Deron Williams has sprained ankle, bone bruise

The Brooklyn Nets have confirmed that Deron Williams has a sprained right ankle and a bone bruise.

The point guard has been wearing a walking boot since sustaining the injuries in a recent workout.

The 29-year-old is expected to recover in time for the start of the pre-season next month.

Williams played in 78 games for the Nets last season, despite suffering from ankle inflammation after the Olympics.
