NBA roundup: Atlanta Hawks thrash Washington Wizards to extend winning streak

Sports Mole rounds up Sunday night's five-game schedule in the NBA, where the impressive Atlanta Hawks won big again.

The Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks won their eighth consecutive game with a 31-point annihilation of the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon.

Kyle Korver led all scorers with 19 points for the Hawks, connecting on five of his seven attempts from three-point range, as the hosts improved to 29-8 for the season.

At FedExForum the Memphis Grizzlies outlasted the Phoenix Suns 122-110 in a double-overtime battle, winning the final five-minute period 14-2 as the Suns' shooting slumped at the wrong time.

Zach Randolph scored both the most points (27) and brought down the most rebounds (17) for the Grizzlies.

The Cleveland Cavaliers lost their seventh game in eight without the injured LeBron James, going down 103-84 to the Sacramento Kings.

Cleveland are down to sixth in the East and back to a .500 winning record after DeMarcus Cousins (26 points, 13 rebounds) inspired the Kings to victory.

The Miami Heat beat the Los Angeles Clippers in LA 104-90 thanks to some big performances from Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside.

Bosh top-scored with 34 for the visitors, while Whiteside had career-highs in both points (23) and rebounds (16) on 10-13 shooting.

Another player with 34 points on Sunday was Damian Lillard, who helped the Portland Trail Blazers to a 106-94 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Portland (30-8) became the first NBA team to reach 30 wins this season, but they still lie a game behind the pacesetting Golden State Warriors (29-5) in the West.
