Half-Time Report: Jameis Winston puts Tampa Bay Buccaneers in command against Philadelphia Eagles

Jameis Winston puts Buccaneers in command

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has thrown four touchdown passes to guide his team into a 28-14 lead at half time in their NFL clash against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mark Sanchez started at quarterback for the Eagles in place of the injured Sam Bradford, but he had no issue leading his team down the field to open the scoring as he delivered a short pass to Josh Huff, who made two tacklers miss before he raced into the endzone for a 39-yard touchdown.

Tampa Bay responded as Doug Martin reeled off a 51-yard run by charging through the middle of the line, but he was tackled short of the endzone. The visitors were not to be denied, though, as Winston threw the ball to Mike Evans, who made a toe-tapping catch for the four-yard score.

The visitors took the lead when Winston fired a short completion to Vincent Jackson to record a 13-yard score, and another huge run from Martin moved the Buccaneers back into range, which allowed Russell Shepard to collect a four-yard touchdown from the 21-year-old.

The Eagles reduced the deficit to seven points when Sanchez dumped the ball off to Darren Sproles in the flat, and he made three players miss tackles to run into the endzone for the score.

However, Winston notched his fourth touchdown of the match to put his team into a commanding lead when he looped the ball towards the corner of the endzone where Charles Sims made a leaping grab.
