Philip Rivers: 'No excuse for Miami Dolphins defeat'

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers feels that his side produced nowhere near their best display in their loss to the Miami Dolphins.

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers feels that there was no excuse for his and his side's poor performance in their shutout loss to the Miami Dolphins.

The Chargers failed to score a single point at SunLife Stadium as the Dolphins cruised to 37-0 victory to hand Mike McCoy's side their third defeat on the spin.

"There's really no excuses," Rivers told reporters. "I didn't play good at all, and that's stating the obvious.

"I don't think anybody on our team thinks we played anywhere close to what we're capable of. That's what happens when you get beat like we did."

San Diego are now 5-4 in their season going into their bye week.
