New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz believes that his side need to pick an outside receiver in the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft.

Tom Coughlin's side struggled offensively in the 2013 season and have lost wideout Hakeem Nicks in free agency, leaving a depleted receiving corps at the club.

Cruz told NFL Network: "[A big-play receiver] is something we need in this offense to be successful.

"I think an outside guy that can do the job and that can help fuel all the other receivers in the locker room and put some fire up under them to get them where they have to be. I think it will be beneficial to us."

The Giants hold the 12th overall selection in the first round of the Draft in May.
