Half-Time Report: Indianapolis Colts edge out Kansas City Chiefs at the break

Colts edge Chiefs at the break

The Indianapolis Colts hold a narrow lead over the Kansas City Chiefs in their NFL clash at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs had the perfect start to the game as Dexter McCluster returned the ball to the Chiefs' 41 from a punt, and five plays later Jamaal Charles took a handoff from Alex Smith over the right side of the line and sprinted all the way in for a 31-yard touchdown.

After a series of punts, the Colts' finally got on the scoreboard as Andrew Luck managed to engineer a drive to put his side into field-goal range against a rabid Chiefs' defense and Adam Vinatieri fired his kick between the posts from 46 yards.

Indianapolis took heart from their success as they took the lead when Luck fired a short screen pass to Donald Brown, who weaved his way through several defenders to sprint into the endzone for a 33-yard touchdown.

Just before the break Viantieri fired his side into a six-point lead with a 46-yarder, but Ryan Succop had the chance to hit back with an effort from 47 yards; however, his kick went wide of the posts.
