Jay Gruden: 'Giovani Bernard will be seeing more of the ball'

Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden reveals that running back Giovani Bernard will see more of the ball in coming weeks.

Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden has admitted that running back Giovani Bernard will get more carries in the coming weeks.

Bernard scored two touchdowns in his side's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on the ground and in the passing game in his home debut at Paul Brown Stadium.

Gruden has revealed that he is still working out the best way to use him along with BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

"I think they are going to get more to 50/50 sooner than later, probably," he told The Cincinnati Enquirer.

"That's something I'm trying to figure out. Sometimes I need to know when Gio is in there because there might be a different set of plays for Gio more so than Benny.

"But really, they complement each other and both can do similar things. Gio, obviously, out in space is more productive. I try not to alter my play-calling too much when one is in there."

The Bengals are 1-1 in their season going into week three.
