Half-Time Report: Sammy Watkins strikes put Buffalo Bills ahead in Kansas City

Watkins strikes put Bills ahead in Kansas City

Sammy Watkins has scored two touchdowns to put the Buffalo Bills into a 16-14 lead at the break in their NFL clash against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Bills started the game on offense and Tyrod Taylor put his team immediately in the Chiefs half of the field by completing a deep strike to Watkins. They failed to move the ball further, but Dan Carpenter put the visitors ahead through a 27-yard field goal.

Buffalo extended their lead as Watkins continued to have success against the Chiefs' defense as he raided behind to collect a deep pass from Taylor for a 28-yard touchdown.

Kansas City got into the match when Alex Smith sent the ball deep for Jeremy Maclin, who made an impressive sliding catch at the three-yard line before Spencer Ware crashed into the endzone for the score.

Watkins haunted the Chiefs again when he notched his second touchdown of the match by leaping over Sean Smith to collect Taylor's pass on the left side of the endzone, but Carpenter sent his extra-point kick wide of the post.

However, the home side hit back just before the break when Smith launched the ball deep for Maclin, who made the catch and ran into the endzone for the score.
