Quinn: 'Falcons could move for Schaub'

Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn has admitted that his side could sign Matt Schaub to serve as their backup quarterback.

The Oakland Raiders traded for the 33-year-old last year to become their starter for the 2014 season, but Schaub was beaten out for the job by rookie Derek Carr, which culminated in the veteran's release at the end of the campaign.

However, Quinn has opened the door for Schaub's return to the NFL, claiming that the Falcons could move for him to become the club's backup behind Matt Ryan.

He told reporters: "Schaub is certainly somebody that we could [add]. As we get through it, we'll let you know if we go down that road."

Schaub has thrown for 24,311 yards as well as 130 touchdowns to 86 interceptions in his 11 years in the NFL.
