Andy Murray determined to better his 2008 Olympics performance

Andy Murray says that he is determined to claim a medal at this summer's London Olympic Games following his disappointing campaign in Beijing 2008.

British number one Andy Murray believes that winning a medal at this summer's Olympic Games will make up for last month's Wimbledon final defeat.

The Scotsman, who was close to making history at SW19 but failed to get past Roger Federer in the final, is confident that he will have a better tournament in London as part of Team GB as opposed to his first-round knockout in the 2008 Beijing Games.

"Obviously with this competition coming up so soon [after Wimbledon] I need to make sure I get over it because I want to do well here," said Murray.

"After Beijing I was really disappointed with myself and I don't want to let this opportunity slip by. I want to make sure I prepare properly to give myself the best chance to win a medal. It's a huge competition in tennis now."

Along with competing in the singles competition, Murray will join his brother Jamie in the doubles.
