Jo-Wilfried Tsonga delighted with Rogers Cup triumph

Rogers Cup winner Jo-Wilfried Tsonga says that he is proud of himself for eliminating a number of high-profile opponents en route to victory in Toronto.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has revealed that he is proud of himself for the manner in which he won the Rogers Cup in Toronto on Sunday.

The 29-year-old beat Swiss ace Roger Federer in straight sets to seal his first title of the season and 11th overall.

The road to glory was anything but straightforward for Tsonga, however, as the Frenchman picked off four top-10 players - Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Grigor Dimitrov and Federer - en route to the crown.

"If you believe in something it can happen. I'm proud of what I've achieved this week," he told reporters.

"It is always a pleasure for me to be here. Two years ago I had a big problem here with my knee but now it's the past and today I have the trophy and I'm just so happy!"

Agnieszka Radwanska beat Venus Williams in the women's final last night.
