Andy Murray does not think that his blistered foot had a bearing on the outcome of the Australian Open final.

Andy Murray has said that the blister on his foot did not cause him to lose the final of the Australian Open.

The world number three needed treatment at the end of the second set, before going on to lose the following two, allowing Novak Djokovic to retain the title.

The Scot told reporters: "It's just a pretty large blister. You get them - it happens. It was just a bit sore when I was running around.

"It's not like pulling a calf muscle or something. It just hurts when you run, but it's not something which stops you from playing.

"90% of the players on tour will have played this tournament with some sort of blister or problem. It had no bearing on the result."

The Serbian player won the tournament for the fourth time in his career.
