Hannah Russell admits that her silver medal is a "dream come true" after coming second in the 400m freestyle final.

ParalympicsGB silver medallist Hannah Russell has said that her medal in the S12 400m freestyle final was a "dream come true".

The 16-year-old was close to winner Oxana Savchenko of Russia for the entire race but just did not have enough left in the tank. However, she was delighted with the result.

"It's a dream come true," she told Channel 4. "I've come here to try my absolute best but to come away with a medal is a cherry on top.

"I had no idea what was going on. I could hear the crowd as I was coming through so I tried to keep my head down and get to the finish."

Russell's medal is Great Britain's second in the pool after Nyree Kindred's earlier.
