Exeter Chiefs move up to sixth in the Aviva Premiership with a 27-6 win over London Irish.

Exeter Chiefs have registered a comfortable 27-6 win over London Irish in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon.

Gareth Steenson kicked the home team to a 12-3 lead in the first half, with both sides rarely threatening the try line in the opening 40 minutes.

The fly-half added another penalty at the start of the first half, before Matt Jess scored the opening try of the game to put Chiefs in a strong position.

Exeter continued to look the more likely to score, with David Ewers adding another try with three minutes to play.

The result leaves the Exiles 11th in the table, while Exeter move up to sixth.
