Half-Time Report: Nick Easter puts England in control

Nick Easter scores two tries to lead England to a 21-3 lead over Uruguay at half time in their final match at the Rugby World Cup.

Two first-half tries from Nick Easter have given England a 21-3 lead over Uruguay in their final match at the 2015 Rugby World Cup in the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

England found themselves trailing just a couple of minutes after kickoff as Danny Care gave away a penalty for an offside, allowing Felipe Berchesi to open the scoring with a simple kick.

The host nation soon took the lead though as Jack Nowell booted the ball forward, setting up Anthony Watson to ground the ball just short of the dead-ball line, while a conversion from Owen Farrell moved Stuart Lancaster's side four points clear.

England extended their lead further as they continued to dominate possession and territory, resulting in a couple of quick tries for Easter, with Geoff Parling setting the veteran up for his first, before he added a second with a dive over in the corner a couple of minutes later.

Uruguay started to see more of the ball as half time approached with Berchesi and Agustin Ormaechea piling forward down the right, but England managed to force an offside to prevent the South Americans adding to their early three points.

England pressed for a fourth try as the break neared, with Watson trying to find a gap down the right, before Uruguay were reduced to 14 as Santiago Vilaseca was penalised for collapsing the maul, leaving him in the sin bin for the start of the second half.
