Edinburgh have clinched the signing of young winger Damien Hoyland on a two-year deal.

The Scotland Under-20 player managed to burst into the Boroughmuir senior team last season before making the move to Melrose.

"It's hard to put into words how happy I am to get this opportunity," Hoyland told the club's official website.

"I've always dreamed that I might get this chance since I started playing rugby so I'm absolutely delighted, especially as it's with Edinburgh Rugby who I've supported from a young age. It's quite surreal really."

Hoyland has scored six tries in 11 appearances for the Scotland Under-20s.
