Wigan Warriors cruise past Hull FC

Wigan Warriors climb up the Super League table with a 44-16 win over Hull FC.

Wigan Warriors have closed the gap to the league leaders with a 44-16 win over Hull FC in the Super League this evening.

Dan Sarginson and Anthony Gelling both scored tries inside the opening 20 minutes to give the visitors the advantage early on.

Gareth Ellis got one back for Hull when he pounced on a kick forward shortly before the break, but Wigan remained in control at half time.

Any hopes of a comeback for the home side ended early in the second half when Sarginson added his second and Joe Burgess also crossed the whitewash.

Fetuli Talanoa and Jamie Shaul added a couple of consolation tries for Hull, but Wigan's win never looked in danger during the second half.

The result moves Wigan up the third in the table, with a game in hand over leaders Leeds Rhinos, while Hull sit eighth.
