David Beckham wants to win over Miami stadium plan opposers

David Beckham insists that he wants to win over the companies opposed to his proposal of building a football stadium for his Miami MLS franchise in the cruise ship port.

David Beckham has insisted that he aims to work with the companies that are opposed to the retired footballer building a stadium for his new MLS franchise in Miami's cruise ship port.

The former Manchester United star has chosen PortMiami as the base of his new club, which has reportedly disgruntled cruise company Royal Caribbean.

However, during a press conference at Miami-Dade College's downtown campus, Beckham told the Miami Herald on Monday: "I want to change their minds. I don't want to be an enemy to the people that are opposed to the stadium. I want to work with them."

Royal Caribbean's headquarters are situated near to Beckham's desired location.
