Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed that he has had a word with Chris Smalling after the defender was spotted singing football chants on a night out.

The 24-year-old is said to have been singing "we're Man United, we'll do what we want", after leaving a bar in Manchester's Spinningfield district in the early hours of Saturday morning.

"I have dealt with it and I've spoken to Chris," the Irish Independent quotes Moyes as saying. "That would be as much as I would want to say on it."

Smalling's off-field behaviour has previously come under the spotlight; in January, the defender was pictured dressed as a suicide bomber for a fancy dress party.
