Former world number one Tiger Woods has revealed that he will not be back in competitive action "for a while" after finishing tied 17th in The Masters at the weekend.
The 39-year-old hit five-under for the tournament, and ended 13 shots adrift of winner Jordan Spieth, 21, who became the second youngest behind Woods to take the green jacket at Augusta National.
Woods's overall score of 283 was his first since taking a break from the sport in February, but the American intends to take another spell away to hone his skills.
When asked by reporters when he would play on the PGA Tour again, Woods said: "It's not going to be for a while. I have a little time off, and go back to the drawing board, work on it again, and refine what I'm doing.
"I really like what I'm doing, I got my distance back, and everything is good. Now my short game's my strength again, which is good stuff."
Woods, who dislocated his thumb after hitting a tree root on the ninth hole in the final round, is currently ranked 101 in the world.
