Red Bull driver Max Verstappen further stamps his authority in the Formula 1 title race with victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen has stormed to victory in Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix, extending his dominance in the sport in the process.

When Lewis Hamilton secured a surprise pole on Saturday, there was hope that the Mercedes could make it to the first corner in front and hold off the Championship leader on a track that offers few overtaking opportunities.

However, Verstappen was able to get the better of the British driver off the grid and it subsequently led to another one-side race, with the Dutchman winning for the seventh race in succession.

Red Bull also broke McLaren's long-standing record for consecutive victories, with that streak now standing at 12 triumphs since the final race of last season.

Lando Norris earned another terrific second for the McLaren, with their resurgence after a recent update continuing, and Sergio Perez completed the podium spots.

Hamilton had to settle for fourth, well clear of McLaren's Oscar Piastri and teammate George Russell who finished in fifth and sixth position respectively.

On a disappointing day for Ferrari, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr were seventh and eighth, with the Aston Martin duo of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll concluding the top 10.

With regards to the Championship, Verstappen now sits 110 points clear in first place, with Perez extending his advantage in second over Alonso to 32 points.

Hamilton is now just six points behind Alonso and as many as 43 points ahead of Russell, while Norris remains down in eighth despite two podiums in a row.
