Lotus racer Romain Grosjean has been hit with a 10-place grid penalty for next month's Canadian Grand Prix following a crash he caused during the Monaco Grand Prix at the weekend.
The Frenchman, who also crashed in practice and qualifying, smashed into the back of Daniel Ricciardo's car on lap 62 in Monte Carlo to end the latter's race.
The FIA released a statement afterwards stating that Grosjean caused the collision and imposed the penalty, which Ricciardo feels is justified.
"I could see that Grosjean had got a good run out of the tunnel and that he was close, so I defended my line and the next thing I knew he was over the back of me," Ricciardo said.
"I believe it was a misjudgment his part and a costly that was quite dangerous, even if we are both OK.
"This race can be frustrating, but I didn't have the pace to move forward."
The race was twice interrupted by the safety car and once more courtesy of a red flag.
