Liam Bridcutt drops to the bench, with Lee Cattermole taking his place in the Black Cats' starting XI, but striker Steven Fletcher has to make do with a place among the substitutes once again.

Meanwhile, the Hammers also make a solitary change in their lineup, with top scorer Diafra Sakho starting the game instead of Enner Valencia, but midfielder Mark Noble remains sidelined with an Achilles problem.
