Strikes from Thomas Ince and Gary Mackenzie were enough to secure Paul Ince's first win as Blackpool manager over Watford.

Blackpool came from behind to beat Watford 2-1 in their Championship clash to secure Paul Ince's first win as manager.

The game started evenly but it was the visitors who threatened first as Matt Derbyshire fired an effort on the half-volley at goal but Jonathan Bond was able to make the save.

Watford responded minutes later when Jonathan Hogg put a header inches past the post after latching onto Ikechi Anya's cross.

The home side were dominating possession and took the lead when Troy Deeney lifted a cross into the area where Cristian Battocchio was there to tap the ball into the net.

Just before the break, Blackpool were within inches of being level as Derbyshire's looping header looked to set to hit the back of the net until Bond got a hand to the ball and tipped it over.

Battocchio was in the action again minutes after the restart but his shot from the edge of the area went just past the post with Blackpool keeper Matthew Gilks beaten.

Blackpool drew themselves level in the 76th minute when Stephen Crainey lifted the ball into the box and Thomas Ince was there to flick the ball into the back of the net.

It got better for the visitors as Gary Mackenzie bundled the ball over the line from Thomas Ince's corner to seal three vital points.
