Giovani dos Santos 'out for two weeks'

Villarreal forward Giovani dos Santos is ruled out for the next two weeks with a thigh injury.

Villarreal forward Giovani dos Santos has been ruled out of action for the next two weeks with a thigh injury.

The 24-year-old, who has scored six league goals for the Yellow Submarine this season, picked up the injury in Monday's 1-0 win over Elche in La Liga.

It had initially been thought that the Mexican international would miss the next month of the season and although a strain was confirmed during the subsequent scan, the recovery time has been set at two weeks rather than four.

The former Barcelona attacker will therefore miss Sunday's clash with Atletico Madrid.
