Morning all. So, Manchester City spent around £32m on a defender yesterday. Is anyone going to beat that figure today? Let's see...

We will start with a look at some of the bigger stories that have been making the headlines over the last few hours:

Trabzonspor agree terms with Liverpool defender Kolo Toure
Jurgen Klopp: 'Mats Hummels is not leaving Borussia Dortmund'
Chelsea aim to seal Mehdi Benatia deal this week?
Liverpool interested in Samuel Eto'o?
DeAndre Yedlin to Tottenham Hotspur "is very close"

Is there about to be a big swap deal concluded in London? According to a report, Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is prepared to offer Loic Remy to his former club Tottenham Hotspur, but only if he receives winger Andros Townsend and young striker Harry Kane in return. Who would be getting the better of that deal?

So, will Radamel Falcao be coming to the Premier League? Both Manchester City and Liverpool have been linked with moves for the Monaco frontman, but he has insisted that he is only concentrating on rediscovering his form after recovering from a serious knee injury.

Paul Lambert's dealings in the transfer market this summer have hardly got the pulses up as far as Aston Villa fans are concerned. Could that be about to change, though? A local report has claimed that Lambert is close to securing the services of Colombia international Carlos Sanchez from Elche. It's believed that Villa have beaten off competition from Queens Park Rangers for the 28-year-old.

DONE DEAL! Scottish champions Celtic have completed the signing of Jason Denayer on a loan basis from Manchester City. More here.

Nice work if you can get it!

And that is my stint on this blog done for today. Coming up now is my colleague Matt Law, who will be guiding you through the next three hours of speculation and done deals. Over to you, Matt.

Staying in Spain and with in particular with Barcelona. Both AC Milan and Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing the Catalan outfit's Cameroon midfielder Alex Song this summer.

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Sporting Lisbon left-back Marcos Rojo. The Argentine defender has been linked with a move to Southampton this summer, but it is understood that the full-back wants Champions League football. He told reporters: "Everything has been agreed with Christian. It's just a matter of finalising little details more with his work permit and personal situation." Full story here.

Some news from the Premier League, where Manchester United are reportedly preparing one final offer of £29m for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels. The centre-back, who won the World Cup with Germany this summer, has been linked with both Barcelona and United this summer, but Dortmund have thus far rejected the interest.

Staying with Manchester United, who are reportedly close to signing Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon. The Argentine defender has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Southampton this summer. However, according to O Jogo, United have moved quickly for the full-back and have met the left-back's release clause, which is believed to be around £15m.

A number of Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in signing Nedum Onuoha from Queens Park Rangers this summer. The 27-year-old played a key role for the London outfit last season as boss Harry Redknapp secured a return to the top flight. However, the signings of Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker this summer have placed Onuoha's future in doubt.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Angel di Maria is in his thoughts for tonight's European Super Cup against Sevilla. The Argentine has been strongly linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer, with Manchester United believed to lead the race. That is just about it from me this afternoon. However, be sure to remain with us as I pass the baton onto Jack Prescott, who will lead you through the next few hours. Stay with us!

Good afternoon! Let's get the ball rolling with some gossip coming out of Manchester United. Wilfried Zaha has reportedly made it known that he would like to rejoin Crystal Palace this summer. The winger agreed to join United in January 2013, but he has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford and spent the second half of last season on loan with Cardiff City.

Time for me to say goodbye, but Callum Mulvihill will be with you until 11pm for the latest. Cal...

Thanks, Pascal. I'll begin my stint with some Arsenal news. Reports earlier this evening claim that Arsene Wenger is keen to press on with a bid to sign Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas, who could cost as much as £8m.

Former AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia, who is currently without a club, is reported to be close to signing a contract with Watford.

News of a potential exit for one of AC Milan's current players now, with reports suggesting that Mattia De Sciglio could be sold as the club attempt to bring in more of their targets before the end of the transfer window.

Hamburger SV have announced the signing of Matthias Ostrzolek, who has penned a four-year contract to complete his move from Augsburg.

It seemed that West Ham were close to securing a deal to sign Diafra Sakho from FC Metz last week, but the move is now off due to a disagreement between the two clubs. The Hammers reportedly attempted to change the deal to a loan move at the last moment, and the German club are now considering taking legal action.

Middlesbrough could be facing a battle to keep hold of George Friend in this transfer window, with reports suggesting that Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace are both planning moves for the defender.

It's time for me to make way fro Joe Fish, who will take you through the next three hours on our live transfer blog. Over to you, Joe.

Here's one that not many saw coming. Southampton have reportedly had a £12m bid accepted by Hull City for striker Shane Long, who only moved to the KC Stadium in January. Steve Bruce's side stand to make a £4.5m profit on the ROI international, who scored five goals in 16 games for the Tigers.

BREAKING NEWS: Long to Southampton may have been out of the blue, but Alberto Moreno's proposed move to Liverpool from Sevilla has been in the offing for some time and the Reds have now confirmed that they have agreed a deal, rumoured to be in the region of £12m, for the Spanish left-back.

Here's an interesting line from Crystal Palace, whose co-chairman Steve Parish revealed earlier today that the club are "confident" of signing an unnamed Premier League midfielder before the start of their season. The Eagles travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Saturday.

More on that now and a report claims that Stoke City enforcer Steven N'Zonzi is Palace's mystery target. The 25-year-old Frenchman, who has apparently handed in transfer requests at the Britannia Stadium the last two summers, was signed by Tony Pulis when he was Potters manager in 2012.

It was an easy night's work for Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka in the Capital One Cup first round as they beat Oldham Athletic 3-0. After the match, the Spaniard revealed that the Championship outfit are in talks with Chelsea over the loan signings of Patrick Bamford and George Saville.

Former Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino has been confirmed as the new manager of Argentina. Alejandro Sabella resigned from the post after guiding them to the World Cup final this summer.

A big one to finish the night of with, and it seems that Manchester United have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Ajax defender Daley Blind. Reports claim that Old Trafford bosses are growing increasingly confident of signing the Netherlands international after Tuesday's negotiations.

That's it from Sports Mole's transfer live blog for now. Rejoin us from 9am tomorrow morning for all of the latest completed deals and speculation from across the world. Until then...
