QPR and Crystal Palace are reportedly poised to duke it out for the signing of Middlesbrough defender George Friend.

Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace are among those reportedly considering a swoop for Middlesbrough defender George Friend.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at the Riverside next summer and it is believed that no deal has been offered to extend his stay.

According to Sky Sports News, the Premier League duo are tracking Friend, while Reading have also been credited with an interest.

Friend, who can play centre-back or left-back, was named as Middlesbrough's player of the season on Teeside after a strong 2013-14 campaign on Teeside.
