Team News: Mark Sorensen in goal for Stoke

Thomas Sorensen starts in goal for Stoke City against Tranmere Rovers this evening, while England international Jack Butland is named on the bench.

Marko Arnautovic and Peter Crouch will form a tall frontline for Stoke City as they travel to Tranmere Rovers in the third round of the League Cup.

There is no Asmir Begovic for the Potters, as manager Mark Hughes gives Thomas Sorenson a start in goal, with Jack Butland on the substitutes' bench.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Cole Stockton lead the line for the hosts, while Akpo Sodje has been named as a reserve.

Club legend Ian Goodison is also named on the bench, meaning Adam Dugdale and Ash Taylor form the central-defensive partnership.

Tranmere: Fon Williams, Hateley, Taylor, Dugdale, Horwood, Atkinson, Power, Rowe, Lowe, Akpa Akpro, Stockton
Subs: Mooney, Holmes, Goodison, Baggie, Thompson, Sodje, Davies

Stoke: Sorensen, Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Muniesa, Pennant, Ireland, Palacios, Whelan, Arnautovic, Crouch
