Jeremie Aliadiere fires Lorient to victory

Jeremie Aliadiere keeps Lorient's hopes of a Europa League place alive following a 1-0 win over Toulouse.

Jeremie Aliadiere scored the winner as Lorient kept their hopes of a Europa League place alive by beating Toulouse 1-0 in Ligue 1.

Lorient made the brighter start when Benjamin Corgnet had a shot blocked by a defender, before Bruno Ecuele Manga's header failed to hit the target.

Toulouse then had two chances in the space of three minutes; Wissam Ben Yedder failed to test the Sochaux goal before Franck Tabanou shot wide.

Fabien Audard was forced into action in the 29th minute when he saved from Pantxi Sirieix's header

Corgnet and Gregory Bourillon both went close in quick succession five minutes before the break, but neither managed to hit the target.

Three minutes into the second half, Etienne Didot drilled an effort into the side-netting from the right of the box for Toulouse.

Tabanou tried his luck in consecutive minutes for the home side, but hit both efforts over the crossbar.

However, Lorient went in front with 13 minutes to play when Aliadiere's right-footed shot found the bottom corner of the net.
