FA Cup roundup: Northampton net three in four minutes to knock out non-League side

Sports Mole rounds up the action from the second round of the FA Cup.

Northampton Town scored three times in the final eight minutes to overturn a 2-0 deficit and knock Northern Premier League Division One Northwich Victoria out of the FA Cup.

Jimmy Ball and Richie Bennett had put the non-League side in the driving seat before Sam Hoskins netted what was to be the first of three Northampton goals in the space of four minutes.

Two headers from Jason Taylor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin respectively did the damage, ensuring that the Saints avoid a second-round upset and take their place in Monday's draw.

In the only all non-League tie of the day, National League side Eastleigh overcame Stourbridge of the Northern Premier League Premier Division 2-0.

James Constable put the away side in front on the hour mark, converting Josh Payne's free kick, before Payne turned in Ben Strevens's cross with 15 minutes remaining. Stourbridge's Karl Hawley saw his late penalty saved by Ross Flitney in the Eastleigh goal.

There was late drama at The Den when Michael Harriman netted a 94th-minute winner for Wycombe Wanderers, as they defeated Millwall 2-1.

Paul Hayes had put the away side 1-0 up five minutes into the second half, before Ben Thompson drew Millwall level with just over half an hour remaining.

A first-half goal from Adam McGurk was enough for Portsmouth to beat Accrington Stanley 1-0 and see the 2008 winners safely into the third-round draw.

Substitute Ben Tozer netted an 86th-minute winner as managerless Yeovil put their troubles aside to defeat Stevenage 1-0 at Huish Park.

Scott Boden headed the only goal of the game as Newport County overcame Barnet at Underhill, while 10-man Sheffield United also won by a goal to nil thanks to Matt Done's strike early in the second half. Che Adams saw red for the Blades for violent conduct with 25 minutes remaining.

A 92nd-minute equaliser from Chesterfield's Lee Novak ensured that both they and Walsall would be in the hat for the next round, while Leyton Orient and Scunthorpe will have to replay after they played out the only goalless tie of the round so far.

Results in full (half-time scores in brackets): Barnet 0-1 Newport County (0-0), Chesterfield 1-1 Walsall (0-1), Leyton Orient 0-0 Scunthorpe (0-0), Millwall 1-2 Wycombe Wanderers (0-0), Northampton Town 3-2 Northwich Victoria (0-1), Portsmouth 1-0 Accrington Stanley (0-0), Sheffield United 1-0 Oldham Athletic (0-0), Stourbridge 0-2 Eastleigh (0-0), Yeovil 1-0 Stevenage (0-0)
